Because like Rizzo and the Strasburg situation in MLB, Ryan and the Jets have way over-committed to Sanchez. I'm sure Tebow will get a shot eventually, but if they do it before the season is officially in the crapper, they would have to eat a lot of crow for saying Sanchez gave them the best chance to win for so long. Especially if Tebow starts winning.

The Broncos were behind Orton last year too - they didn't think Tebow could win (although they liked Tebow in the locker room and didn't trash him in the media). It's amazing how a few wins can change people's attitudes. People won't suddenly think he's a pro-bowl QB, but they'll at least be willing to give him a chance if he keeps winning.

Because if he wins a few ugly people will start clamoring for him when the Jets clearly do not want to commit to him.

I'm guessing Rex will be canned soon. Sparano will take over and give Tebow a shot. Tebow is a win-win for coaches in a situation like that. If he sucks, it's because he sucks. If he wins, it's because the coach put together a great game plan. Sparano can make himself look really good.
