Actually I wanted bhouska - bringing in horvie caused a huge spat between psap and me - psap was convinced that I had an end-game alliance with dubs and Arfy because I traded idol clues with them, and I was ticked at psap for inviting someone into our group of four without talking about it first.
that was a crazy day. i was POSITIVE that you had something on with dubs and stalagna. good times!
That probably had as much to do with coach_deen's heart attack as anything LOL!
we so could have changed the game early on if you allowed golfpro and I to throw that poker challenge and get rid of Casey.
I fully expected to wake up that next morning seeing our tribe lost and that I was gone.
I will say this psap, I appreciate what you were trying to do in that you didn't want the vets to team up and pick off the rookies, but I still think you went about it the wrong way. You made the play a little too early and with a little too much bravado, also, you couldn't have picked 2 worse people to plot against than me and steve. And what I mean by that is Steve plays the game straighter than anyone, and to be honest, until the arfy vote in this one, I have never voted against someone who I have worked with. I know it wasn't personal against me and steve, we were just in the wrong tribe, but just like you didn't want to be targeted, it sucks to have the target on your back right away. I always try to play the first few rounds based on performance in challenges. Coach_deen didn't respond to anything and didn't even want to play. Why keep someone like that around just to make a splash when you have someone like steve who actually wants to be a part of it.
I had no idea what i was getting into, and i just winged it. I didn't know a single person in the game, so i had no idea what their histories were until i started to go back and read the old Survivor threads. Fact is, until i did all that reading, I didn't even start to play the game until we were on the way to our first council. Not much planning on my part, just reactionary, and fortunately i found receptive ears in that first tribe.
I could have went with you and voted coach_deen on the first vote, but it was clear that was not a power position, so i did my best to create one for myself. I was playing to win, and was not playing to ride someone else's coattails. I was happy i went as far as i did, and if it weren't for an unlucky tribe split i think i would have found enough rookie alliances to have made it to the jury. There was no bravado in my method, i was just having a fun time with it. Some take this game WAAAYYY too seriously. In fact, if you read horive's and glutton's post apparently what i did had an impact on the way they played the game, which was news to me.
I'll play again. I'll play under this name. While i may have been vocal, i didn't break any promises nor lie to anyone either. I'll take it for a first effort.
You played an extremely strong game Casey. You had a target on your back from the get go and you did a great job maneuvering as you did. Just appears you ran out of road and out of vets - so perhaps i did have a bit of say in it in the end.
Good game. Lots of fun. Great experience.
