Take any 2012 team, begin with their baseballreference.com roster (team members must have had at least one PA in 2012). You may use either partial or full seasons for traded players. Once teams are set, they will be aligned as close to rl as possible. Here is the twist. Based on winning percentage rank (1-20), you get a certain number of twists to any season of the player's career.
See below for the twists for each team.  This will be a 20-team league.

I think the only way to really make the worse teams competitive is to align by win pct

i looked at possible twists for most teams, and I was able to get most to at least 83-85 mil.  There are some nice hidden gems in the BR.com roster that don't instantly appear on the simleague roster.

Cle, Col, and the Cubbies can all throw together functional teams that may have a few surprises.
