It bears repeating.   6 SEC teams in the BCS top 10.    9 losses between them.   All to one of the other 5.    Ridiculous.

The funny thing is the bottom 2(SC/TAMU) beat the top 2(GA/AL).   Go figure.

Yep and they finally played some quality competition out of conference in Clemson and Florida State.  I will still be interested to see how they do in the bowl games.

Has to suck to be SC/TAMU.   The team you beat could very the National Champion and you dealt them their only loss.

I think in season games are a much better barometer for comparing teams and conferences.  Bowl games are a different animal, especially if you are not playing for the national title.

As a diehard UK fan we tend to hold on to the LSU win in 2007 a little too much.

It is all about consistency, winning one game doesn't define a season or success, it is what you do over the course of the season.

Last year SC had an easier conference schedule than UGA and this year UGA had the easier conference schedule.  FLA never gets a break because LSU is their West Division opponent they have to play every year.  Sort of doesn't seem fair.

I really don't see how FSU should still be top 10.
IMO, S Carolina, Stanford or Nebraska are all better qualified for the top 10 than is FSU.

Bowls seem more about senior character/leadership.    If your leaders are looking to the future instead of the game, you can get in a lot of trouble.

SC/TAMU both lost to LSU and Florida.   Not sure what "course of the season" has to do with it.   Good teams lose to other good teams because someone has to lose.

Not so sure about the SC/GA schedules.   I think SC lost to LSU and Arkansas(ranked 2 and 3 before they played the day after Thanksgiving) last season while GA lost to SC.   But, yeah, the games against the other division can be deciders when they shouldn't be.

Stanford lost to Washington not much different than NC State, both lost to a top 4 team in the other game.  Now granted Stanford has some better wins than FSU, but for me there isn't a lot of difference there.  As for SC no bad losses, but Florida absolutely crushed them so that weighed them down a bit in my mind.  Similarly Nebraska got crushed by Ohio State and also lost to UCLA and has no real quality wins given just how bad the Big Ten is this year.  I think you could probably flip a coin with any of those 4 teams so I went with the team that I actually thought was the best of the bunch which was FSU, I certainly wouldn't argue with any of the other three though.

Not a lot of difference between FSU and Stanford?  Stanford is at a 6 average in the BCS computers and FSU is 19, that doesn't just happen with a few subtle differences in the resume.

Stanford has at least 4 of the best 5 wins between the two, and I would argue their losses are both "better" as well.

Since I had this discussion in a bar just a few days ago, I implore you to look at the box score of FL/SC.   183 total yards for FL.  Drives of 1, 3 and 29 to take a 21-0 lead.

Final score: Crush.
Actual game: Not so much.
