1 No one on the Christian Right wants the government to do anything about this.

2 43% weekly church going is a good number, but it ignored the 85% of Americans claims to be Christians.

3 Why was the proposed boycott against Chik-Fil-A such a noble effort in the eyes of the media, but something like this where simple people are organizing in a grass roots way to let private enterprises know what problem they may have with their policies.

4 If this is a majority opposing traditional Christian values then efforts like this should be no threat. The Chik-Fil-A backlash shows that the numbers may be a little different than you are implying.
A) I didn't say there was a majority OPPOSING traditional Christian values, just that there wasn't a majority strictly adhering to them.  Most people's personal value systems are not that far off from the traditional Christian value system.

B) If there is such a majority opposing the secularization of Christmas, why do the corporations that fall on the Christian Conservative naughty list seem to be continuing to thrive?  Doesn't it stand to reason that if so many Americans are silently agreeing with your position and following the AFA doctrine that Old Navy and the GAP would be struggling mightily?  I mean, the margins for big retail chains are actually extremely small, and they famously make them up around the Holidays.  Maybe you're too ignorant to realize this, but the reason it's called Black Friday is because it's the date on which retail stores typically move into the black; for the first 10.8 months of the year or so they lose money.  If any meaningful proportion of Americans were ACTUALLY boycotting Old Navy and the GAP they'd go out of business in 2 years.  Instead they seem to be some of the strongest clothing retailers going.  And Victoria's Secret is on that naughty list.  How often do you see any girl/woman aged ~16-32 leave a mall without carrying a little pink bag?  Seriously, they seem to have to go there every time they see one.  It's almost ridiculous.  Radio Shack and Staples are on the bad list and they're still around; Circuit City went bye-bye.  Naughty Barnes and Noble lived, Borders died.  You think people care what the AFA says about companies waging a War on Christmas?  The proof is in the pudding.  Only an extremely vocal but extremely tiny percentage of people give a sh!t if companies say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays" in their advertising as long as the relative price to quality of the merchandise is right.

Again this isnt about the actual values of any of these boycotts. They usually dont work.

The question is are we seeing a pattern against Christmas and can we discuss it and can a news network create a catchphrase for it to make the story more interesting?

Sure, but they sound stupid.

Creating a war against kids bullying sounds smart?

Yeah, why not? Bullying is bad. Saying happy holidays isn't.

You think it doesn't?  Are you pro-bullying?

I think bullying has gone on always and it never was raised to the level of national crisis until recently.

We all know the real reason behind it of course.

I'm sure it must be a liberal conspiracy. Like soccer.

If you haven't heard swamp ranting about soccer, it's a real treat.

It is a way to prevent Christians from addressing issues dealing with homosexuals.

Wow. So many follow up questions.

1. Is bullying the appropriate way to deal with anything?
2. Do Christians only address issues by bullying?
3. Are all bullies Christians?
4. Will bullying a gay person make them less gay?
5. Is suicide the preferred solution to homosexuality for Christians?
6. If you are being bullied, does that mean you're gay?
7. If you are being bullied, will not being gay stop the bullying?
8. Are bullies really just misunderstood missionaries?
9. Should we encourage bullying in order to stop the tide of homosexuals that seem to be invading this once great Christian nation?
10. What about other forms of bullying like Amanda Todd?
     - Should we prevent it because it isn't related to gayness?
     - Or allow it because every straight guy likes boobies?

Yes, because no one celebrates Christmas anymore.
