Yeah,  I know, but we have all of the other teams with real life names, and then yours is a bit off the wall.  It just seems a bit incongruous.  If it were me, I would use a name that has some resonance for Charlotte's history, geography or culture.   Something a bit more, shall I say, dignified?  I suggest one of the Panthers, Bobcats, Knights, or Hornets since all of these names have been used or are being used by current or former big league (or at least baseball) teams in Charlotte.

The Hornets would be cool, because that team no longer exists, so it's not like naming the NY team the Knicks or the Toronto team the Maple Leafs.  Also, according to Wikipedia, one of Charlotte's nicknames is "The Hornet's Nest"

Its also the Queen City. Charlotte Queens rings a bell.

I have to agree, if we all have to stick to the standard names the exta teams should have to at least not use a retarded name.

I agree with all of this.. However I just want the 2 slow pokes to get their team since they should have been ready for the last month to join the world... 

Luckily enough, it's easy to change your team's name.  You just have to send in a ticket and ask.

All we're waiting on now is rounders31 to put in his NY squad.

I agree the Charlotte franchise having such an oddball name with everybody else having a proper name doesnt sit right with me either.  The team certainly should have a historical name in Charlotte.  I thought that was a rule anyways?

We're waiting on the Yankees and the idividual has been logging into his current teams daily.  Any updates?
