Well it is the start of Season 22 and after 3 consecutive years of no playoffs the fans in NY are hurting for some winning hockey. However they might not be happy with the teams approach this season.
General Manager John Corbett explains to the NY Daily News
NY Daily News: So what is the plan for the team this season Mr. Corbett
JC: Well we have 10 veterens that have one season left and while all of NY wants us to put our best team out on the ice that would cause problems in the upcoming seasons with too many retirements. So for the first 19 games we will put our best team on the ice, then we will probably play all our younger players for the remainder of the season. This way they will have the experience when we try to win the cup in Season 23..
NY Daily News: Well the fans are not going to like that, another season of waiting
JC: Well that is the plan for right now it could change but I doubt it
NY Daily News So there you have it sports fans another so-so year is what you can expect from the Dogs as their young players get the time to grow on the ice.
NY Daily News Alreday this preseason we have seen no fewer than three trades can you talk about them
JC: Sure, when I looked at our organization I saw a need for some younger forwards and some help at right wing, we had a glut at Center and Left wing but we only had three experienced right wings I will now discuss each deal and why we did it.

I looked over the league looking for a team to trade Stu to, I saw the Ogopogoes had two young goalies who didn't have high ratings, The Ogopogoes have some great young talent and in my opinion have some great draft choices because they missed the playoffs for a few seasons in a row, as such I felt they could use a strong goalie to make a run this season so I offered Stu for a three year center Emile Rautavita. Although we already have a lot of depth at center he was a fair value for Stu (at least I hope) so we went with that offer and GM Canuk agreed to the offer.
NOTE: STU had a shutout in the opener for Okanagan, Emile started the season in the Minopr Leagues but we will see him around the 20 game mark.
TRADE TWO

OK I may have over spent for Poysa but we had a real need for a RW and Poysa fit the bill. Stillman who is a top rated veteran never really had a chance to fit in with the dogs he was aquired when we sent RW Jake Daniels home to Roswell to win a cup we wish him all the best in Icelandic. We feel Poysa who has 2 seasons left compared to Stillman's one was the right move for the Dogs at this time.
If you look ar Poysa's numbers he has 151 points in ONLY 4 SEASONS while Metro Stillman has 204 points in 17 SEASONS so we feel Poysa is a much better player
