I’ve been too busy getting my teams ready and submitted for Round 1 and now checking rosters. Once round 1 is full and underway I’m sure round 2 themes will be finalized and posted. If anyone is super confident right now they’ll make Round 2 (I’m certainly not) and having WISC building withdrawal they can always start the 120M boxes theme.

And I love the discussion. Keep it coming and always feel free to post ideas for future years.

These themes were a blast to solve, exhausting multiple iterations to converge and then a better idea! Much improved from last year in that it isn’t easy to simply re-use ideas from one theme to the next. I want to throw out all my teams and start over! I felt compelled to learn more about many teams/players I never draw on. Well done and looking forward to the seasons.

It's also the one with the most roster errors by far. Most common are not having a teammate with each box player, not having just one from each box/category, or using a combined version from a different team. Double check all of those.

$110 Million – The 13th Warrior
Pick any of the ten digits and then make your team from each of the 13 years that end in that number from 1894-2023 (i.e., if you chose #6 you would be picking from 1896, 1906, 1916, 1926, 1936, 1946, 1956, 1966, 1976, 1986, 1996, 2006, and 2016). Further, you must select exactly one hitter and one pitcher from 12 of those years. That will leave one player (your Warrior) to be selected from the 13th year. Your Warrior must also be the most expensive player on your roster.

Team Name: Please include the last digit of your season in your team name

Pick any real-life team. Add one free-agent pitcher and one free-agent hitter from the same season. The other players must be full/partial seasons from your selected team (or 300K exceptions - see below).

Seasons: All (Full/Partial only)
DH: No
Clones: No
Ballpark: Use the one your team called home (or What-If Park if it’s not available)
Alignment: Chronological (Earliest teams in the NL East, most current in the AL West; tiebreaker is the salary of your pitching free agent)
300K exceptions: You can use players from any team from your chosen season who cost $300K or less to fill out any needed roster spots or replace players you can't afford to roster.
Team name: Please include your selected team as part of your team name.

Another reminder. It doesn't say it explicitly, but it would be nice to list the team *and* year as part of your team name.
