After the first round, would you rather have a 12 hour skip rule or a 24 hour skip rule.

Speaking of the new players, they screwed up Ben Simmons again.

There are a LOT of good, new guys between $5 and $6 million.

18-19 Paul George only 70D? Gobert only 72D? While Harden is 76D?!? Giannis only 92% @ SF?... Hmmm... Giannis probably played as many minutes at SF this season as Barkley did in his whole career, but who's 100% at SF?... Some good 18-19 guys to use, but some issues...

Some defensive ratings will be revised after the All-Defense teams are announced.

Shouldn't take All-Defense teams being named to realize PG and Gobert were miles better than Harden on D. Yes, he improved this season. From atrocious to decent.

I am assuming the on/off court splits play a big factor here. This year Jazz Def Rating was better with Gobert on the bench and Rockets were atrocious without Harden.

Of course everyone knows Gobert is miles better than Harden defensively

They use a formula for the defensive ratings. They also make first team defense 90 and second team defense 80, unless their rating is already better. I think there was a season when Tyson Chandler was the DPOY, but he was second team on the All Defense team so they gave him an 80.

Yeah, that could explain it somewhat, Tau. But that had to do more with the other team could spend energy on scoring with Harden sitting, had to spend energy defending with him on-court. I know there's no way to quantify that in SIMs, but based on the eye-test/def stats, there is no world where Harden should be considered that good on D. It's kind of like the Magic Johnson thing; such a great player, but it's overlooked/down-played that he was generally a turnstile on D. Really, I guess it's not that big a deal. But when guys like Harden are rated better defenders than DPOY candidates, I just don't get it. At least they didn't also give Harden a better rating than Giannis...

That, I didn't know. Makes sense why Gasol's DPOY season is, I think, an 80. Thanks for clearing up the process a lil for me, Midge. I don't like it, I hope they eventually alter it, but it is what it is.

Last I'll say on it: if they do someday change their process, Pippen should be the first guy they correct.

Bill Russell should be the first guy they correct.

Fair enough. I said Pippen because he's one of my favorite players, and the best all-around defender I've seen play. All the anecdotes I've heard were that Russell was incredible, but I don't have much in the way of reference, just a few clips I've seen. I do remember that in an interview one of his former teammates was positive that Russell averaged 10+ blocks a game for a few of his seasons.
