I was explaining how that could be possible. I am also not trying to debate. You said you "couldn't see how" a team eFG could be higher than 4 of the highest usage players' individual eFG, and I was telling you how. It has to do with the higher usage players having higher FTA and/or TO rates, relative to FGA. That's how it could be possible.

As dBKC said, how can your team eFG% for 5 guys be higher than all of your 4 highest volume shooters individual eFG%'s? Pretty sure it's mathematically impossible. Not worth a big debate, but just looking at the #'s you posted, that team eFG% is too high.

Not mathematically impossible, but unlikely. It is possible, due to FTA and TO being part of usage. It would be impossible for a team eFG to be higher than that of the players of the 4 highest individual FGAs.

Nevertheless, the online eFG calculator sam used was wrong. I just calculated his team eFG at .548, very close to dBKC's estimate.

Two quick ways to calculate eFG: (PTS - FTM) / FGA / 2 or (3PM/2 + FGM) / FGA

Your answer was telling me how usage was calculated, not how usage would be applied to team average eFG, which was the topic at hand. FTA would affect TS% but not eFG. TOs affects neither stat.

What I meant was if his top 4 usage players are between 54-55.5 eFG, his team average should be closer to 55 than 56.5. Wright won’t affect the formula that much since he’s only taking about 1/10th of his team’s shots.

I really wasn’t trying to debate or start a fight. I like Sam’s team. Just wanted to point out that the avg he had was wrong in case he wanted to tweak it for his own team building use, that’s all.

In this instance it's not possible. Think of the volume of shots Kawhi (54.1), Conley (54.4), Marvin (55.4), and Dirk (54.9) had. You're saying Brandan Wright's volume of shots could lift the entire team to 56.9%? I'm not even touching on Usage%, just the amount of shots taken.

I almost took Duncan Robinson in the 4th. His D is bad, no assists, below average rebounding at the 2, but god I’m just obsessed with his 3rate and %. Very curious to see how it plays out.

I like Brandan Wright and have used him a lot. One of the last teams I had him on he had 517 minutes and took 160 shots in 45 games. He shot 60% from the floor. That is 3.5 shots per game.

I almost took Calderon over David West. If he was there when my next puck came arou d I would have definitely taken him.

I totally over looked Shaq. I have used him a number of times. He lacks the minutes but minutes shouldn't be a probably in this league.
