Take your time smoke...we are way farther ahead than I thought we'd be now. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the SM that I was up! Wasn't even TWO PM my time! I thought I might be up around the time I got home from work around six lol

Hey guys....I have put up every nickname I knew of for the guys drafted so far. I think it might be fun if we continue that as much as possible. Hey, it was the 70's, when so many actually HAD nicknames. So, when you post your pick, if you have a few extra seconds, check NBA reference.com and see if your guy HAD a nickname. If not, no biggie, I just thought it might be fun and we all might learn something about these old guys.

Yup got it sox...it's on the RUNNING DRAFT part of page one of the draft thread. I can't remember if Bob McAdoo had a nickname. I don't think anyone even called him "Big Mac"...but maybe? I think at one time I heard him called "CrackAdoo" but I'm not going there lol. Also, does anyone remember if Jerry Lucas had a nick?

Basketball reference has McAdoo as “Mac” and Jerry Lucas as “Mr. Memory” or “Dr. Memory”

I was curious why he was called that so I looked it up. He did the “phone book trick” as a party trick, where he could memorize and recall 50 pages of a phone book, he impressed even Bobby Fischer with this when the two were at the same party. Apparently he could also memorize opponents’ plays and tendencies and used it to his advantage.
