Tec, are you actually stupid enough to think Edgar Martinez DOESN'T belong in the HOF?
If he's such a no-brainer HOFer, they why has he never received more than 36.5% of the vote in his six years on the ballot?
Maybe YOU shouldn't be calling others "stupid".
Because, for the most part, the people that vote for the hall of fame are writers not analysts.
Maybe the analysts can start their own Baseball Hall of Fame. But until they do, you can STFU.

I thought the goal was to put the best players in the hall, not only put in the players the writers like best.

The writers typically do a pretty good job, though they have put some unworthy candidates in recently.
It's not hard to do a "pretty good job." My eight year old could also do a "pretty good job." (Most of the major **** ups have been committee selections)
Where they suck is when they actually have to analyze. It's easy to put Randy Johnson and Frank Thomas is. It's harder when you have to decide between Jim Rice and Edgar Martinez, Tom Glavine and Mike Mussina, Curt Schilling and John Smoltz. Those votes are where the writers lack the ability to do the job they have been tasked with.
