Put me down Hitters 1899-1908......Hurlers 1991-2000...I also do not like clones, same reasoning as midknight

Thanks guys....I'll poll people about the clones

I prefer no clones, though at this cap it may not matter much.  I couldn't afford ONE Ty Cobb on my team, let alone three....

I'd play if there were no clones. Just not a fan of leagues that allow them.

I have one person to respond back about the clones.....it looks like we will remove them.

I spent a bunch of time last night putting together a team (sorry, didn't sign up here) and I'm pretty attached to my three clones; actually built my team around one set.  I'll change if necessary, though.

Edit: my years are 1886-1895 and 1986-1995 - "What a Difference a Century Makes"
Edit II: Years subject to change, since I assume we're eliminating clones?

I am just waiting on specs to respond. I'll give him to 10 am Tuesday.

It looks like a lot of people will bail if there are clones.  Not usually one to knuckle under to mob rule (just joking, guys), I recommend making the executive decision to do away with clones.

I'm in regardless of clones (never have used). Hitters 1908 - 1917; Pitchers 2005-2014. It looks like fun hope it doesn't take long to fill. League #?

Just noticed the hitters were to come before 1917 so change my time period to 1907-1916.

Welcome new Joe!

9 in!

I'll hop aboard with (Hitters 1907 - 1916 & Pitchers 2001 - 2010)

Good to see you North, it's been awhile.

The Ty Cobb story at the top of this thread is, I believe, attributed incorrectly to Cobb. Lefty O'Doul was asked after a dinner at which he spoke in 1960 what he thought Cobb would bat today. O'Doul said about .340. When the asker suggested that wasn't terribly good, O'Doul gave him the punchline, something like, "Well, you have to consider that he's 73 years old."

Jeff Kisseloff reports the O'Doul provenance for the story in his book, Who Was Baseball's Grestest Hitter?

I've also heard the story twisted into a Red Grange story by a College Sports Information Directors Association banquet speaker.

O'Doul's been overlooked so much, he ought to at least be recognized for his talent as a humorist.
