Question: What do Larry Kopf, Joe Dugan, Claud Derrick, Red Shannon and Morrie Rath all have in common?

Answer: They all impersonated SS for the 1910-1919 A's

Still trying to find one that can field a little. Plenty of spew to choose from. 33 in fact

It can't be worse than the 80s Mariners catching...the only good thing I can say for it is that I have a lot of choices. I figure I'll get lots of PH ABs...

I'll trade either of you guys the 30s Browns pitching staff gasoline in exchange for either of those problems....

IIRC, I made the LCS in the first version while giving up something like 7.5 runs per game...pitching is a luxury in this league.

That's just nuts, reddtrain. But I suppose that the chronically bad teams could come up with more good batters than good pitchers over a patch of bad seasons. Take the 2000-09 Rays, right Franco?

1910-1919 Athlectics??  That's manna from heaven... even at $80M.

oh I am not ********. it sure could be worse. honestly fitting under the cap and still having players is my problem. there are no cheap pitchers except Plank and he's already taken.

I was in Coors and scored something like 8.5 runs per game.

I second this...it's really hard to shut out a team offensively over the course of a decade. One or two positions...maybe, but most of the teams I researched has at least a few all-star caliber hitters. But there were some terrible decades of pitching for some teams. Entire decades where they had only a couple pitchers with WHIPs below 1.25. That's why I think it's going to be easier to build an offense than a pitching staff in this league.

Wow, there I was all "1948 Dom Dimagio, woo!!!"  And then I saw the PA's.  Hmm.  Good work scruffy.

This is another fun factor...find a team where there were no 200K players in the decade and you get into cap hell pretty quickly when you have draft a half-dozen 500K-750K players who still hit .190!

I will sign on for this with Miguel Cabrera

I will assign 1896 season for Hugh Duffy for scruffy308; Redland Field for Eastvanmungo, and 1940-1949 Cincinnati Reds for Big_T's franchise decade. Good luck to all. Nice to be in same league with you again Eastvanmungo.

I'll hop in with Eddie Collins

With Collins off the board, that's 2 stars taken now from the 1910-19 A's....
