The New Big 6 Conference Challenge Initiative (DI) Topic

I would like to setup a Division I Knight world Non-Conference Invitational Challenge with Human only coaches. This would be a challenge in which certain conferences would be invited to participate and each conference would be set in terms of overall seeds based on the conference mates or by a formula. Which ever conference wins the most games out of the non conference challenge will win the challenge. Eventually I would like to make it have some type of winner prize but I am not made of money and cannot do that alone. However bragging rights are always a good prize and the competition of playing better teams each year to increase your prestige is good as well. Please let me know if you are interested.

how many non conference games are u looking to set up. All 10 or less

Less than 10, probably closer to 5, but hopefully somewhere in the middle like 8. I think if we start small it will work out better. So like 5 to start and then if interest grows we can make it more or less depending on what everyone thinks and input from conferences and coaches participating.

I am going to call this "The New Big 6 Conference Challenge Initiative" (NB6CCI)

What spot would you like to start play? 5 Teams so 5 games per season in non-conference play. Next poll will be which season to start.

I am hoping to get multiple conference at the beginning and working on a scheduling algorithm to make it fair and not allow conferences to beat up on the other each season such as not having the high seeds play the low seeds each year. It will have to do with records, ratings, and such for seeding unless that conference wants to submit their own teams rankings.

I think doing games 3-8 Gives you two games plus 2 pre-season to learn your team.  Then gives you 3 at the end to schedule for RPI.

I would say talk to Dac from Valdosta St. one of the smartest coaches i've talked too and already has all of the math and ratings figured out to make fair seeds and such for each conference.

That all makes sense and yes I have talked with Dac a few times. I am going to reach out again if we get enough participation in this challenge.

Hofstra is in for the challenge!

The following are the teams that have confirmed participation for this challenge. I wish we could get some more participation but I think this might be the best that we can do at this time. So I think I am going to start working on a schedule possibilities for the upcoming seasons so we can have something for after non-conference this season.
