do we chose any stadium in use during our year of choice?

Does anyone have a 'story' about their team name?  As for the Yerba Buena Pelicans, Yerba Buena was the original name (well, original as given by settlers) of a settlement which eventually grew into San Francisco; Alcatraz is an indigenous tribe's word for Pelican.  So it's a Bay Area tribute, although I don't personally like Frisco all that much.

Doesn't say, but makes sense.

No restrictions on ballparks and they are not exclusive. I took Ebbets Field for mine but it is still available for anyone else to use as well.

If you want to use a contemporary park to see how batters from 1948 or whatever perform there, great, if you want to stick with the aesthetic of that era, that is cool too.

Cool story slotterhodge.

My team is mostly just about having a Hudson Valley team - that is the region I still think of as home and the most beautiful place I know.

Prospects because I wanted to use Ebbets Field which used to border on Prospect Park in Brooklyn. But there is of course the double meaning of players being prospects - there are a few good rookies on my 1952 team.

Introducing ... the St Pete Beach Pesky Barnacles (1954)

For those of you who know me from progressive leagues, I always try to come up with a logo or mascot to match my team. Sometimes serious, sometimes not. In this case, I couldn't resist posting whatever in the world this thing is -- but it kind of looked like a pesky barnacle to me -- and St Pete Beach, FL is one of my favorite places to chill. And Ft Myers needed a rival.

Point Reyes Oystermen - I like oysters from Point Reyes.  Sorry, nothing more esoteric than that.

sort of controversial up in Bodega Bay with the oyster growers getting a bunch of flack (have to leave maybe?) after years of what appears to be a pretty "green" business.
