Yanks drop to 1-4 with another awesome lack of offense in an 8-4 loss to the Bosux.

Adam Warren pitches well for 5.1, but the bullpen surrenders 6 runs in 3.2.

A 3-run homer by Chris Young in the 8th is the only bright spot for the bats, and makes the final score look less bad than it should have been.

ARod drops a ball in his third career play as a first baseman in the second inning, leading to an unearned run.

******* ERod.

.200 in the Era of ARod.

Lol. Love the effort the Yankees are making to get his bat in the lineup. It's like they are in a hurry to pay the home run bonuses.

The funny thing is that a 39-year-old A-Rod might be the best hitter in that Yankees lineup...they were almost last in the AL in runs scored in 2014, might be worse this season.

Couldn't happen to a nicer team.

Meh.  Everyone knew the Yanks would be horrible this year.   And probably for a few years.    Too many old, expensive, unproductive guys.    Like ARod.

Yankees pick up their second win of the season, crushing the BloSux 14-4 on the ESPN Sunday Night game of the week.  They used up almost all of their remaining allotment of hits and runs for the month of April in one night.

They crushed Clay Buchholz with 7 runs in the bottom of the first.  Big hit of the inning was ARod's bases loaded double.

Every Yankee starter picks up at least one hit.  Tanaka picks up the win to even his record at 1-1, but is unimpressive in five innings of work.  The bullpen (Carpenter and Davies) contribute four scoreless innings to close out the game.

It's early still, but Yankee starting pitchers are only averaging around 5.1 IP per start.  That's going to kill the bullpen over the long term if the starters can't go a little deeper.

Next up is a 10 game road trip, starting with a 3 game series against the O's starting tonight.

Dont look now but ARod is probably the best player on your team right now...
4/13/2015 9:27 AM
156 games to go.  Will he still be the best player on the team in late September?
4/13/2015 9:43 AM
Best player on a .333 team doesn't mean that much.

Somebody was the best player on the '62 Mets.

Did anybody care?

Somebody has to be the best player on every team.     Doesn't mean it's relevant.

True, and this Yankee team will be very, very irrelevant this season.

The Yanks need a new GM. Years ago they should have tried a rebuilding process. I don't think Cashman knows what he's doing. There is no plan. The Yanks need to learn from other teams--big money only helps if your team is solid. They should have never signed Ellsbury and McCann. They could have tried using young players and if they were in contention at the all star break and the young player was failing the. Pick up a veteran in a trade. They should also have tried to dump high salary has beens. Supposedly the Dodgers wanted Tex when they traded the Red Sox for Gonzalez....where was Cashman on this?? The current team doesn't look good nor does the next 4-5 years.

The Yanks need a new GM...a visionary with an eye for young talent.

Baseball is best when the Yanks are a force in the game. It gives the rest of the teams something to shoot for.
