Most improvement in one season Topic

I think that has been a topic before, but I couldn't find it.  In Wooden D3, I have a redshirt freshman who has improved 85 this season!  Is that getting close to the high side of all-time?  Or have people seen 100+ in one season?

Here he is: Phillip Monico

Also, at what point do players stop improving for the season?  I think I read at one point sometime during the conference tourney, but I could be wrong.

ive gotten 101 by a single player in 1 season:

John Murphy he actually improved 298 points in his career.  He was a D2 pulldown i waiting for until the 5pm shift before signing and no other school went after him.

I have another player that might actually beat that though:

Willie Huggins he's currently at 76 point increase and only 3 games into conference play, so I fuly expect him to break over 100 points.  Juco recruit

I am pretty sure players stop improving before or at the conclusion of conference tourney

Jason Royal
while I was there at Pace Royal gained 90 points his freshmen year.

Once you reach the CT finals all growth stops.

At first I though you said growth as a redshirt freshmen, to which I think one of mine had the highest anyone knew about when a thread came up (87). But for players not in the middle of a redshirt, yes 100 happens on occasion. Into the 120s has definitely been done, probably somewhere in the 130s is the high but I don't remember specific examples.

the0nlyis, that Murphy guy's 101 season was nuts!  I woulda been checking that daily! haha.

jsajsa, man that would be crazy to see 120+, I thought this 85 was a fun one to watch!  We are in the quarterfinals tonight, so looks like he has two more nights.  So, won't quite get to 90.  Still my biggest growth in one season ever (so far ).  Does the All-Conference Teams come out the same night that the last growth is done?  I think that is going into Conference Finals as well.

"Does the All-Conference Teams come out the same night that the last growth is done?"

Yes. Once those awards come out players will no longer grow.

This one got 129 his freshman year and is going to be close to 100 this season. So it's going to be over 200 in two seasons.

William Barahona hit 126 his freshman year and is at 187 points overall 10 games into his sophomore year. www.whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerProfile/RatingsHistory.aspx

You'll find this thread interesting. Long story short, the highest growth in one season that anyone could verify was 140.

From that same team Edward Clark has had 216 points of improvement in 2 seasons as well to give me 2 players with 200 plus points improvement. Granted these are my first 2 seasons there so I scrapped the squad and these 2 have been starters since day one. Goes to show what high work ethic and plenty of playing time can do for high potential players.

Willie Huggins ends the season with an increase of 142 rating points which beat what i believe was the highest recorded growth of 140

Have had a few players log 300 + over the course of their careers. Think there are some guys with built-in potential that surpasses what you can glean from their evals and FSS. The key question is not to try and find out who improved the most in one season, or who improved the most over a career. The key question is, how do we recognize these guys, who I call fliers. Players that will get max improvement in several core skills, some of which were not even blue to start. Might be they are completely random, and there is no way to spot them in advance. One thing you can note after the fact--if a freshman picks up a point or two his very first day--after the first exhibition--odds are he is going to improve more quickly than most. He may top out, but that means he is playing at his max level a lot earlier. Most freshmen do not pick up any points their first day of the 34; many do not even pick up any the second day, regardless of the amount of blue or their WE.
