I read the rule I just don't see why that would matter. What is the difference how many innings he has?
It matters because under the rules, he does not have an eligible season. He's a SP. His first (or call it last) season has under 100 IP. The first or last season of a SP with under 100 IP is not eligible. He actually gets disqualified twice! 2014 Kyle Hendricks and Odrisamer Despaigne are ineligible. As is 1885 The Only Nolan, not that anyone would want The Only Nolan. 2014 OF George Springer is ineligible. And anyone else whose only season as a hitter is under 400 AB, or is a SP with under 100 IP.
Why should Weyhing be an exception to the rule?
