That is an impressive record for sure, awags!!  But my original post wasn't about winning NCs (which we are all trying to do) but doing something even more difficult (winning a bowl with a geographically disadvantaged team, winning a CC in every conference).

To expand on the all-Hawaii roster, maybe you could only recruit from the state where your school is located?  Or, maybe you CAN'T recruit from that state (harder and more expensive).

I would love to get a half dozen challenges and get them pinned to watch other coaches try to tackle them.

I was answering bj's challenge from above and then got into a debate with my buddy dub's, sorry.
Ha!!  No worries; if I had a coaching record like that, I would be shouting from the mountaintops!!

Obviously my 8 season proposal was much too lenient.

Win a CC with an amidexterous qb. that can throw with either hand.

Win a NC using a roster populated only by guys who wear eye patches.

I thought of something like this, and realize that you were halfway joking, but it would be cool but super difficult as you would have to look at every recruits picture.

Have a (decent) roster of 50 players from 50 states (you can substitute Washington DC for one of the states if you want).

Win the Big 10 South with any of the non-elites.

I think treyomo had a pretty good run with Indiana.

I imagine a lot of people have done it, if we're talking all time.

But in terms of REALISTIC challenges, I'd say that's a pretty tough one.

As noted, I've seen people win it here and there, but rarely consecutively or with any type of consistency...so I'm impressed if that's true.

I'm pretty sure he won a national title there. I wonder if anyone can remember which world or access his history there?

I found a conference championship in season 44 of Stagg, but no national title.  Anything with Indiana is pretty impressive though...just from scouring the worlds quickly, IU has potential to be one among the bottom 10 schools in D1A.

Take over one of the 5 lowest ranked sims in a division and win the National Championship at each division.  224-228 in DIII, 140-144 in DII, 116-120 in DIAA, 116-120 in IA.  (National Championship might be too ambitious. So an amended version would be Final Four in the playoffs and win a Top Tier Bowl.)
