I was thinking about ways to keep GD interesting - and thought maybe there could be some cool challenges outside of trying to win your conference and a NC.  People could sign up for a challenge and then post their progress.  It would be a "game within the game".

Here are a couple I thought up.  I'd love to hear some other examples.  If enough people are up for it, we could devote a thread to each one and pin it so people could sign up...

• Win a bowl game coaching Hawaii with a roster 100% full of islanders.

• In D3 (or D2) challenge a D1A SIM team to an exhibition game and win.

• The 100 point club..

You get the idea.  Any others?  

Win a NC at Montana or Idaho in D1 or Idaho St / Montana St in D1AA

I always thought winning a CC at every conference in a level (DIA, DIAA, DII and DIII) would be an interesting feat in one world. Win a CC, move to the next conference.

Start fresh in a new world, and win a Division 1 bowl game in 8 seasons or less.

Went to check the old races to see if that is possible, but it turns out you can get DIA in five years if you win the DIAA National Title in Season 4

How about 4 consecutive national championships at 4 different levels? Is that a record?

In fairness, I was not serious about the bowl wins.

In total fairness, I am never serious.

Though, as impressive as it is, you won the DIA title because you were in the BCS conference because the defending National Champion at UNLV (who you followed behind after he won a title at Monmouth) also went undefeated again and finished fifth because of the playoffs.

The DIII win is actually the most impressive. I suck at DIII and I was in that world for all three of those seasons when you built Huntingdon up.

UNLV had 2 seasons of recruits and the opportunity to choose his own schedule. He also had the choice to stay at Monmouth. Either should have stopped my run.

That is an impressive record for sure, awags!!  But my original post wasn't about winning NCs (which we are all trying to do) but doing something even more difficult (winning a bowl with a geographically disadvantaged team, winning a CC in every conference).

To expand on the all-Hawaii roster, maybe you could only recruit from the state where your school is located?  Or, maybe you CAN'T recruit from that state (harder and more expensive).

I would love to get a half dozen challenges and get them pinned to watch other coaches try to tackle them.
