There are now only 2 teams currently available. They can be moved to any available city. Two are playoff teams from last season:
AL NORTH:
Tacoma Timebombs—26th pick: This franchise had 92 wins and was a Wild Card playoff team last season and was the division championship series winner the year before. It was held for the last 20 seasons by the same owner with a good amount of success. This team has a lot of good young position players and seems poised to continue to be competitive.
Montreal Expos – 14th pick: This franchise has been middling over the last owner’s past 12 seasons, though it has made the playoffs 6x during that period. Has a few young players to work with at SS and CF. Otherwise needs some work.
AL EAST:
Durham Raiders – 15th pick: A young team that needs help. Has a couple of players in the minors that may help, but looks like a rebuilding project.
NL NORTH:
Syracuse Orange Sherberts – 30th pick: Wild card team with 98 wins last season and made it past the 1st round before losing in a close series to the WS winner. Some good pitching at the ML level. With some deft maneuvering could remain competitive while rebuilding.
NL EAST:
Cleveland Stars – 29th pick: Another wild card team, had 97 wins last season and lost in the 1st round of the playoffs. Strength up the middle, including a strong pitching staff, make it likely this team will remain in contention.
NL SOUTH:
Tampa Bay – 10th pick: This is a reclamation project. Plenty of FA’s potentially leaving the team. Had a decent draft last season with 4 1st round picks.
NL WEST:
Oakland Oaks – 32nd pick: Won the division and lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Roster still looks strong and ready to compete again in a weaker division, except one team that has been languishing should make it a race this season.
