The Space Age Progressive is a 20 team (4 divisions so 4 playoff spots) league in a 16 team era.
We will soon complete our 1951 season and begin our 1952 draft.
We supplement our rosters with a pool of Secondary Players that consist of all players whose last seasons fell between 1941 and 1945 during the World War II years, using that last season only.
The Secondary Players, unlike the regular current (1951 and soon 1952) season players do not advance in time, but remain in that last year until such time as baseball expands and we no longer need Secondary Players to fill rosters.
Rosters can go up to a maximum of 30 players all told (we do not use computer-generated AAA), but Keepers Lists are limited to no more than 20 players.
We have a team available that currently plays in Cincinnati (the new owner can change cities and parks so long as the park is not currently in use in the league).
Draft position is determined by the CUMULATIVE 4-YEAR Won-Lost record. This team is currently at 71-56 on the season and is likely to draft between 7th and 10th or 11th in the 1952 draft first round out of 20 teams. The draft is serpentine.
It is a good team with a bright 1950s ahead if well-managed - it has Roy Campanella and Matt Batts at catcher, Joe Adcock, Nellie Foxx, Carl Furillo, Johnny Logan, and some decent current pitching. It probably needs some more pitching for the future, but could be a contender soon.
