Evaluating Players by Abilities NOT Ratings Topic

When I first read about player abilities from CBG and a few others - I wondered which combined ratings translate into what different abilities and is this theory or has it been confirmed by seble? And even more so - how do you determine the effectiveness of the abilities you are judging?

Each outcome is an equation that bases the offensive players attributes vs the defensive players attributes.<br />

Rebounding is something like 2/3 REB and 1/3 ATH with some IQ and defense played thrown in there.

Everyone has their own opinions, but for me, it breaks down into nine basic categories. Distributing the ball, rebounding (off/def), defense (perimeter/post), and scoring (perimeter/post/driving/cutting).

Whats the difference between driving and cutting?

My thoughts as well. Although I don't feel cutting is 50/50 ATH/LP (also not saying that you indicated that, just clarifying) I would say it's weighted heavily towards ATH. Whereas post scoring is the opposite.

For guards (and maybe post players) I think LP is used against the average of the opponents BLK and DEF, with ATH being equally as usefull on both sides.&#160;
