Round 2 Themes Topic

The owners ranked 1-12 from round 1 will be in the NL.  The owners ranked 13-24 from round 1 will be in the AL.  The first round draft order, within each league, will be random.  Then yes, the 12 NL teams will be sorted by final salary for the three NL divisions, and the same thing for the AL teams.

For the 13/14 player draft, can a player be drafted twice, once for each year?  In other words, can Clayton Kershaw '13 and Clayton Kershaw '14 both be drafted?
9/4/2014 10:53 AM
No, only one instance of a player.  You have to decide at the time of draft which version you are taking (in order to calculate current salary).  Once the 2014 season comes out, I will go through all the players that played in both leagues during the two years and assign each of those players to one league (based on which season is the better of the two).

So this theme will be like a real baseball season.  The talent will be better than real life because of 12 teams filling rosters from 15 teams (plus taking the better of two seasons will also add talent).  It might play out similarly to a $90-$95 million theme but with much more bench depth (since no salary cap).  My guess is that the top salaried teams will be close to $100-105M.

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but for the $90M league, the AVG max is meant to be 0.27000000..., right? A player who's at 0.2702 isn't eligible even if they show up as 0.270 on the front screen. Is that correct?
9/5/2014 8:55 PM
That is correct.  The search engine should check that for you.  Just enter .27 as the max, and nobody at .27001 should show up.

^ so no Gary Carter. There may be several illegal rosters if we don't mention him by name.

The draft requirements are only for the draft, right? No restriction on how the player are used?

Regarding '75 Gary Carter, he does not qualify under of any the 7 categories.  For the last category, as long as you set the AVG limit to 0-.270, OBP limit to 0-.360 and SLG limit to 0-.450, Carter will not show up in the query.

1. Must have 40+ SBs
2. Must have 35+ HRs
3. Must have 100+ walks
4. Must have 100+ strikeouts
5. Must have A/A or better infielder (does not need to be primary position)
6. Must have A+ range outfielder  (does not need to be primary position)
7. Must have hitter with a max of .270/.360/.450 avg/obp/slug

And I never police how players are used once the tournament starts.

For $100m, what ballbark do you choose if the one your player played in that year isn't an option?

If not available, use the park he played in closest to the season you selected

That was how I ended up wondering about 0.2702 players. I saw him on a different search and wondered why he hadn't been showing up when I searched for the last category.

In the text of the 110M theme it says 1901 onwards, but under seasons it says 'Any'. Is the latter a bug, i.e., is it 1901-2014 only?
9/19/2014 12:42 PM
Good catch. Fixed.  1901-2014.
9/19/2014 1:29 PM
For the $60m theme, will there be some type of schedule deadline for each round of owners to submit their rosters so that the next owner has sufficient time to properly build his roster?
