I have a team with the 98/99 Dell Curry and the 12/13 Jose Calderon (Detroit) on the squad. For me, Curry is shooting 37/38/78 and Calderon is shooting 38/37/92. For another team in the league the same two players are shooting 50/49/85 (Curry) and 56/58/94 (Calderon). Am I just being unlucky or am I doing something wrong? I am not overusing either player.

people like randomness, it's why so many new owners are flocking to join WiS at the height of the nba play-offs (which of course should be peak season foor new guys)

Difficult to say without seeing the makeup of the entire team.  What are the ast .percentages?  How many games in are you?  What are you having to face in your division?  There are a lot of variables here that haven't been answered.

The point guard is the 06/07 Steve Nash (38.7 Ast%). I drafted the 91/92 David Robinson to keep defenses honest. The team is the Altoona Fish if you want to take a look at them and tell me what mistakes I made. I'm still very new at this. I'm having a lot of difficulty drafting a team with at least 17,000 decent minutes.

I still don't know what your team is playing against, but these are my issues.

1.  Center depth sucks.  Robinson then Bobby Jones (and the rooks).  The rooks are going to get mauled by the WIlts, Shaqs, Howards, and Kareems.
2.  Usage makes no sense.  A little high for starters and then next to none for bench players.  Which means you are going to be in the usage penalty with bench guys and this could be adversely affecting Curry and Calderon.  Curry looks to be your top usage bench guy, and he is not meant to be used that way.
3.  You overspent on D.  DRob, Erving (who isn't a great offensive option..more on this later), Jones, and Rodman are solid, but D high D ratings can be a bad place to spend money especially when...
4.  You didn't spend enough on rebounds...especially offensive rebounds.  Board control helps limit the other teams opportunities to score and create more possession for you to score with.  EFG + Rebounding + Proper Usage = 60 win seasons and rings.  I know there is a bit more than that to winning big, but that is a great place to start.
5.  If you are playing Dr. J at SF and playing him there a lot you are getting crushed by other guards.  Nash can't guard a paper bag.  Most experienced players are playing at least one dominant player at one of the guard spots (12-13 LeBron is getting a lot of guard love because of the high efficient usage and rebounding advantage you get).
6.  I wouldn't have taken Nash, but instead I would look to 09-10 Kidd.  Good passing, good threes, nice PG rebounding, and solid efficiency with some D.
7.  Dr. J is a cruel mistress.  If used as a SG he can give you a rebounding advantage, but you never get threes from him.  While you have Nash you really need another high usage bomber.  Perimeter shooting is good, but you really need more efficient threes.

You are winning some games now as you have a pretty good record, but without the overwhelming number one option and lack of rebounding some of the more seasoned guys are going to hurt you in the playoffs.

17k minutes isn't too tough to build a team with if you look to having a strong 8 man rotation and then work in the rooks.  This is a team I am using in an OL right now:

I bring Shaq off the bench in order to give my second unit the usage it needs, and keep the other teams big men honest.  This is a 7 man rotation plus the rooks, and that covers but 11.8 minutes of the 240 total team minutes per game.

I am not saying this is the ideal team, or a blueprint to follow, but it does show that you can find a little of everything to make a team at this cap.  TO's and Fouls are a tad high, but I feel my rebounding and ability to draw fouls should equalize some of that.

Thanks for the advice. I thought I was okay at center with Robinson and Jones, but that means I'm getting killed at power forward.
