The Post War Progressive league has one opening for the 1953 season. The league started in 1946 and this will be our 8th season.
The team available is the Chicago Cubs. With 17 games left in the 1952 season, the Cubs have a record of 44-101, which is the worst in the league. We have a weighted lottery for the first round of the draft among the 4 teams with the worst record, so the Cubs will draft no worse than 4th in the first round and have a 40% chance of the #1 draft pick. They will draft 1st in all subsequent rounds.
Details of the Cubs 1952 roster and actual stats for their 1953 returning players are posted below.
The PWL has been a stable league. t2 of our 16 owners in 1952 have been with the league since inception.
This is an opportunity to join a league in the era of Mantle, Mays, Spahn, Ford etc. While the 1953 rookie class is not particularly distinguished, 1954 rookies will include Aaron, Kaline and Banks among others
