Yeah, I was aggressive in S1 and got about 75 cents on the dollar.  jello was the only owner to inquire when I got started.  After the deal with him, others took interest.

I think I had a pretty easy time.... just try to get anything useful, since value is irrelevant.

The locals realised they could get my decent guys at a discount, and it meant I'd gladly throw in something legitimately useful to get a deal done.

It's not overpaying when you're paying in currency you can't use yourself.

24 of my BL 25 are acquistions.   And I'm 30-20 with the 4th-5th best record in the world.

I figured that while another high pick next season won't help me much, it will be a more tradable asset the better the player is.

Stupid abandoned teams are killing my draft position, though.... can't even get below 3rd in my own division thanks to the guy who hasn't checked in since 12/21...

You could have been in the NL with owners out since 12/6, 12/12 and 12/20.    And 2 of the 3 were in first until just recently.

This was a "test run" for me.   I've got 6-8 players I don't like on my team so I wanted to see what sort of numbers they could put up.  Maybe I'll like 'em better when the season is done.

I'm doing my test run this season in AAA with good results.  Next season it's the majors.

Trop and I were doing test runs and finished with the 3rd/4th best records in the AL.   Trop beat me in the ALDS and lost in the ALCS to eventual WS winner(who disappeared after dispatching of trop).

iain and Okie got their tank on.  Not sure what chuckjr was doing.

Trop and I also had 1 non-acquired player on our playoff rosters.
