I lost my doc with the distance chart but found this one by zhawks from '08, is it still accurate?

Also what is the distance before the campus visit jumps the $2,000 range? Thinking somewhere around 700, but I can't remember for sure.

there are really three distances where the costs noticeably jump;  200, 360, 1400
A recruit listed at 200 miles might have an actual distance of 199 miles which is rounded up to 200.  He would fall into the cheaper 200 mile cost column,  If a recruit is 201 miles away he also will have his distance rounded down to 200 miles however his recruiting costs will be quite a bit higher than the recruit at 199 miles that was rounded up to 200.

No one knows.  I think that for sure HVs are better up to 200 miles.  Above 360 its CVs.  Between 200-360, your guess is as good as any.

all in all, good advice.

however, put me squarely in the HV up to 360 mile camp. im also not even in the slightest convinced that "no one knows". i don't claim to know for sure, but thats because im lazy enough not to push it to the "knowing for sure" level. certainly there are multiple ways to get there.

I have honestly never even noticed that star in the upper right.  Thanks for pointing it out.

You're welcome.  I've blown off any features the "new" forums had except for that one.  Serious annoyance-saver since the search feature sucks so bad.

anyone know what site HD uses to calculate these distances? i have a recruit that's 199 miles (city to city) on 2 different websites, and he cost me the higher amount...

Maybe campus to home/high school is slightly different?

would HD actually calculate campus to campus?!?!
