Season 48 Match-Ups:

(Please note: If you played away or at home last season and find you are scheduled for the same this season it is possibly because your opponent is in the same boat. Currently the CCAA holds a 3 game Home Court advantage (likely caused by various games not getting scheduled over the past seasons) and I am attempting to balance out the overall series as well).  As usual, a few games were shifted one slot to avoid repeat match-ups of this season (in one case to add variety and avoid a repeat from 2 seasons ago). If all games are scheduled as indicated the Home/Away imbalance will be reduced to 1 game (still favors the CAA).

Season 49 Match-Ups:

(Please note: If you played away or at home last season and find you are scheduled for the same this season it is probably because your opponent is in the same boat. Currently the CCAA holds a 1 game Home Court advantage (likely caused by various games not getting scheduled over the past seasons) and I am attempting to balance out the overall series as well).  This season only 2 match-ups were flipped to avoid a repeat of last season. If all games are scheduled as indicated the conference home/away will become balanced. There are still individual teams with imbalances that will be attempted to even out over time.

FUTURE SCHEDULE:

Season 50 Match-Ups:

(Please note: If you played away/home last season and you are scheduled for the same this season it is probably because your opponent is in the same boat. The overall conference home court has been evened out although a few teams still have imbalances that I will try to correct over the next few seasons. This season 2 match-ups were flipped to avoid repeats).

CHALLENGE RESULTS SEASON 49
There were a number of very compelling, tightly contested matchups this season. The CAA wins this year's challenge 7-5. The overall head to head record is now 73-37 in favor of the CAA. Although the Heartland came up just short this season, I'm very encouraged by the games and the direction of the challenge. Good Luck to everyone next season!

Season 51 Match-Ups:

(Please note: If you played away or at home last season and find you are scheduled for the same this season it is possibly because your opponent is in the same boat. 2 teams were swapped to avoid repeats of last season, and 2 others lower down were swapped to avoid a repeat from 2 seasons ago. Another pair that did play 2 seasons ago had to remain as switching in either direction made things worse).

REVISED MATCH-UP SUGGESTION FOR SEASON 62

Looks like Grand Canyon filled their entire schedule early, throwing a minor hiccup into the match-ups. Here is my revised plan:

  • DOMINGUEZ HILLS @ W FLORIDA
  • MONTEVALLO @ SAN FRAN ST
  • DRURY @ SONOMA ST
  • INCARNATE WORD @ CSU, BAKERSFIELD
  • N ALABAMA @ CSU, LA
  • CAL, DAVIS @ LINCOLN
  • CSU, STANISLAUS @ VALDOSTA ST
  • CSU, CHICO @ ST. MARY'S
  • OPSU @ SAN BERNARDINO
  • ROCKHURST @ UCSD
  • POMONA @ ST. ED'S

When I learned about the situation Cal Davis v Lincoln, Stanislaus v Valdosta, Rockhurst v UCSD and Pomona v St Ed's had already been scheduled. I shifted the remaining teams around as best I could. The changes mean that:

Both #1's and #2's from each conference are still matched up. Drury and Grand Canyon were the #3's. N Alabama and Cal Davis were both #5's, but will play in season 61, so I swapped them with the #6's to avoid a repeat. With Davis and Stanislaus scheduled however, that moved #4 Sonoma up to #3 and #6 Bakersfield up to #4. CSU, LA moves up from #8 to play #5. Chico moves from #9 to #8 and with the #10 and #11 games scheduled that moves San Bernardino up from #12 to play #9. Heartland #12 W Alabama will sit this season out. Of the teams that made major moves, only CSU, LA (3 spots) and Bakersfield (2 spots) are human coached. Syhwang, welcome to the challenge, eh? This is the best solution I could come up with and still keep the best teams in the mix (no offense collegeboss...)  I believe that I worked it out to ensure all the teams that moved up got home court as compensation.

If there are any other problems, please let me know. Remember to schedule for Week 8 if possible, and have fun!

SEASON 63 SCHEDULE FOR CCAA HEARTLAND CHALLENGE

Only one match-up had to be adjusted to avoid a repeat of last season. A few teams find themselves on the road or at home again for a consecutive season. This will happen based on match-ups from time to time, and I do my best to normalize it over the life of the challenge. Currently there are only 2 teams (out of all 24) that have an imbalance of more than 1 game in their H vs A situation. Please schedule all games for Week 8 if possible. As always let me know here, via sitemail of on the CC regarding any problems. GL everyone, and have fun!

  • LINCOLN 67 @ DOMINGUEZ HILLS 53
  • DRURY 63 @ GRAND CANYON 72
  • SAN FRAN ST 43 @ W FLORIDA 48
  • CAL, DAVIS 78 @ N ALABAMA 63
