This will be season 6 in an ongoing league. 
The basic rules are:

pick a real life team from 2010.  Your base roster is the real life players who played for your team in 2010 (their 2010 season)*. 

There will then be a draft made up of the players from the 6 teams who are not chosen, all stars from 1961, and several additional players.  The draft list can be found here:

Additional rules:

DH is AL only.
Trades are encouraged.
Use your team's 2010 ball park.
Team name must be realistic.
No WW.
AAA is allowed but way below average.  You will be able to use the draft your own AAA function and fill out your roster with players who did not make your 25 man roster but you otherwise hold the rights to.  
Alignment will be as close to real life as possible but I reserve the right to make significant moves once the league fills.  

Current owners will have until next Sunday at 1200 hours EST to reclaim their current team.  This league will go public on Wednesday, November the 3rd.

*The exception being a player who played for more than one team in 2010 (i.e., Jose Guillen playing for both the Royals and Giants or Cliff Lee pitching for both the Mariners and Rangers.)Such players will be considered restricted free agents and their draft rights are held by the teams that they played for in real life in 2010.  Teams can choose to exercise those rights in the draft, or trade those rights.  If a team acquires all of the draft rights does not have to use a draft pick to acquire said player.

its the challenge of building a team that sucks to a winner... we all can't just pick our favorite team all the time, well, maybe a few can. After a 97 loss season in Seattle in 1980, I feel like I have to try again, if given the chance...

I am in again, switching to the Angels this season.

i stuck with the white sox throughout their horrid 1988 season, i don't know why i wouldn't take them in a much better 2010

gonna return with the nationals (old expos) and i'm gonna drop the brewers and switch to the marlins (if you can please put one of them in the AL)

just to make it easy...forget the marlins and give me the bluejays now that they are available (this way you won't have to switch leagues for me)

i was horrendous with the Indians so i'll let them go...i'll try my hand with another terrible team...I'll take the  Diamondbacks
