In this theme, the 4 playoff seeds in each league will not be determined by wins alone.  Because this is The Johnny Dickshot & Dick Pole Tribute League(™), the seeds will be determined by the following point system:


-1 point for every Team Win
-1 point for every RBI knocked in by Johnny Dickshot
-1 point for every strikeout by Dick Pole

E.g., your team wins 90 games, Dickshot knocks in 100, and Pole strikes out 60 -- you have 250 points.

The top 4 point-getters in the AL and NL (regardless of division) will advance to the playoffs.  The first tie-breaker will be Team Wins, the second will be Dickshot RBIs, and the third will be a coin flip.


Lots of possible strategy dilemmas here.  Which park do you choose?  Given that at a 90M cap you'll have some quality pitchers, how will you get the mediocre Dick Pole some appearances  -- as a spot-starter or reliever?  Where do you bat Dickshot?  Who do you bat in front of Dickshot? In his best season Dickshot only had 590 PA -- do you play Dickshot tired, or do you rest Dickshot?  And finally, why is it so much fun to type "Dickshot" over and over again?

Surely there must be 24 WIS dorks with a juvenile sense of humor capable of getting this league off the ground.  Getting it erected, as it were...

I didn't think this would be so hard to fill up, but I'll keep plugging away.  I'll be in and out of this thread to bump it a few times a day, I've got pretty good stamina.
