all 12 coaches, seriously? that is insane.
Yes sir....56 national titles combined between all 12 coaches (and that's not counting championships on the coach's other IDs).

whittier wooden d3   34-1      .7336  oldave

kinda suprised a non-undefeated team would be top5... but we did have a decently tough schedule with 11 games vs top15.
lost to killbat in noncon but avoided rematch when they were upset in NT.

also like to point out this is first NC for whittier in 763 seasons across all worlds and lets us shed the label of greatest d3 team not to win an NC.  this was our 18th trip to final 4 and 6 trip to title game.

amherst and redlands appear to be the new greatest without NC.  i think each have been to 12 or 13 final 4s and 4 or 5 title games.

oh damn, it was awesome to see you won - but i didn't know you flat out dominated! really good to see you back doing so well :) i have picked up some of your slack on the random ranting front... but, without nearly the entertainment value :( i think every conference deserves oldave in it, its just not really fair to the folks who have to go without. there are what, 80 conferences per world? you can manage 800 teams, can't you oldave?
9/11/2014 9:47 PM
thanks dr gil.   i have no doubt you have picked up some of the ranting slack!

as for me, i have really slacked off on the ranting.  i should be ashamed of myself.  ill try to do better,  but maybe im all ranted out?   nah... wait till wintertime,,, i think the oldave will be back by then.

in fact, in addition to being my least tweaked team,  whittier wooden was maybe the most silent ive ever been,  heck,  ive even been known to clog up the cc when i am the only human in the conference!  im not sure i posted once this season.   defnitely not at all in the past 2 weeks.   embarassing

the was definitely not a stretetegic superstious ploy on my part... although...hmmm...
and its not the team was so good there was nothing for me to rant about.   ive had some pretty good teams and have allways found something to get fired up about.
and its a great conference with really good cc banter.
but.... intentional or not,  it does kinda make you wonder if the HD gods  are rewarding the kinda gentler quieter old avey?

Knight D3
Season 76
Anderson (rgerkin)
RPI: .7363.

That's good for 2nd place all-time in D3.  I recruited all my seniors from C-.
10/18/2014 11:15 AM
That's 3rd place, rgerkin. See above from ggallagh...

* Southwestern, University conference: jsajsa. 33-2, RPI .7370 New #2 all time on D3 individual list

Awesome finish. Great job!

Where you recruited your seniors at isn't important. More often than not, a good coach recruiting at C- prestige but able to start the recruits right away, ends up with better seniors than an A+ who can't. But you still have to bring in the right players so congrats again!
