Hookey nerd, eh.

I claim a player before the Rule 5 draft. The claim is still pending at the roster freeze. If someone drafts him, what happens to my waiver claim?

It is non-existent.

Would this be the Clayton Henshaw that was referred to earlier that could help the Jays win the East?
11/20/2012 9:38 AM
That Clayton is a bit old.   Maybe he throws a knuckler.

Have you ever looked at your team, and promoted 4 players from AA since they gave you the best opportunity to win?

Are you insinuating that he could be a true knuckleballer?

The most I've done is 2 from AA.   I like to bring up no more than 2-3 at a time in order to spread out arb/FA.

He could be.  Or a LH2B.

in the real life home run derby, could a hitter use a left handed pitcher? i've never seen one, but wouldn't that give righties the same advantage that lefties have hitting off right handers?
11/22/2012 9:33 PM
The hitter chooses his pitcher in the HRD.

Is there a worse feeling in HBD than watching a team you ran for 24 seasons get handed over to a dumbfuck who hasn't made the palyoffs in their only 10 seasons in HBD?
11/23/2012 3:57 PM
I imagine an ice pick to the eye would be a worse feeling.   Or maybe a drive shaft up the ***.  But, as HBD goes, I haven't given up a team after 24 seasons.   But I generally don't follow my former teams very long for fear of the inevitable "I GOTTA REBUILD THIS MESS" comment when the team you left behind could win 90 with the proverbial blind, one nut monkey slamming his little monkey hands on a keyboard at the helm.

How does Rule 5 offer back work? I've had guys taken in Rule 5 in seasons past, but I didn't want them back, so I didn't notice. I understand they have to clear waivers first (since I don't have the option to pick them up on waivers), but then if the player does clear waivers, will I get some sort of message asking me if I want to take the player back?

Yes, you'll get a notification in your in box.   Rule 5 offer back.
