3 PM cycle after 8th ST game.    Once that 9th game is played, ratings are hit.

Trying to assess my HBD team performance after last season. We were 9th in NL in fielding percentage and 2nd in net +/- plays. How much weight should I assign to each fielding statistic (fielding percentage vs. +/-) as I determine how to make my adjustments for next season?

I don't know that I've ever looked at overall fielding in that light.   I look at it more from an individual standpoint.   Your 2B is your only real problem.

I'm not going back to find it- how much do I need to offer to retain a guy who says I need to make him a great offer or else he's going to fa?

I've gotten away with an extra year and 20-25%.    Sometimes I've had to increase it by 40% with the extra year.

during coach rehiring, could you offer a higher level than the guy asks for and will they possibly accept? I have 2 guys who want the same position and already hired one, but could use one a level higher.

Yeah, they'll take a higher level job.

Have you ever tried a guy like this at the BL level?

Harry Pineda

I wondered what to expect from someone with such decent splits but nothing else really BL calibre.

Mike, this guy would be comparable wouldn't he?

I'm working on an upcoming draft and using some of the things you posted about previously.

I have a question regarding pitchers which I am sure has been brought up.

I am comparing two pitchers. Each have 4 pitches.

Pitcher 1
P1 94
P2 67
P3 58
P4 33

Pitcher 2
P1 87
P2 80
P3 66
P4 51

Assuming all other ratings are equal for the two, what would be the better option here? Pitcher 2 seems to have more 'better' pitches with a P1 that is 'pretty good' and a P2 that is solid. Pitcher 2 has a near elite P1, a mediocre P2, and two other somewhat bellow average offerings.

What would you lean towards?

What do you think about suggesting to WifS to make the playoff brackets page "dynamic" so to speak? As in, with 21 games left (or an easy-to-determine number) in the season the playoff brackets page populates at each level with how it would look if the season ended that day. And then changes each game after that with the updated teams?

Yeah, that's pretty close.  I was actually thinking his guy would have an OPS somewhere between my two guys.  .690ish.   Pretty damn close to your guy.

Using my formula, it's closer than I thought it would be.   P2 by about 5%.   Eyeballing it, I thought closer to 10%.

That would be a nice little tweak but, once the WC bracket pops up, it's easy enough to figure out at a glance.

Why doesn't HBD add a bump cycle to minor leaguers in the playoffs or who make the playoffs? I feel like this would motivate owners to look after their minors.

They do.  Sometimes.
