Kentucky followed a familiar trend against Wisconsin, turning a deficit into a thrilling comeback win. The Wildcats were down by six points with three minutes to play, but their heralded freshmen displayed the same poise that has become a hallmark of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. James Young, Julius Randle and Andrew Harrison all connected on shots down the stretch as Kentucky stormed back for a 74-73 win.
Young scored 13 of his team-high 23 points in the second stanza, and assisted Andrew Harrison’s go-ahead basket with 14 seconds left. Willie Cauley-Stein came back from injury to lead the Cats with nine rebounds as Kentucky won the battle of the boards 39-24.
Frank Kaminsky continued his stellar tournament play with 20 points, six rebounds and two blocks. Ben Brust’s 21 points led the Badgers in the scoring column as he connected on five triples.
