After finishing with a 584-190 record in 2010 (75.5 percent), the WhatIfSports.com college football simulation engine did nearly as well in 2011, compiling a record of 579-198 (74.5 percent) in straight up simulation predictions.
The new season brings new challenges, including the addition of four more schools - Massachusetts, South Alabama, Texas-San Antonio and Texas State - to the FBS ranks. Undeterred, our simulation engine is prepared to take a shot at besting the accuracy of past years.
To prepare you for the upcoming 2012 college football season, we will unveil our season-long simulation forecast for all 124 FBS schools.
Using the same college football simulation engine, we "played" the entire 15-week FBS schedule. We will release our college football predictions for the six BCS conferences along with game-by-game schedules and predicted results beginning on August 21st. To top it off, our friends from Scout.com and CollegeFootballNews.com will provide their analysis and team reports heading into the new season. Finally, on Wednesday, August 29th, we will release every FBS conference’s final standings and records.
The schedules of the 2012 College Football Previews and Predictions are as follows:
- Tuesday, August 21 - ACC
- Wednesday, August 22 - Big 12
- Thursday, August 23 - Big East
- Friday, August 24 - Big Ten
- Monday, August 27 - Pac-12
- Tuesday, August 28 - SEC
- Tuesday, August 29 - Final Conference Standings
