The inputs to the 201 simulations of each upcoming game are based on a rigorous analysis of each team that considers strength-of-schedule-adjusted team and player ratings and then makes modifications for injuries and depth at each position.
Game of the Week: #6 Pittsburgh 19 @ #3 Philadelphia 24
It will not quite be the shootout that the Monday Night Football game was this week, but the Eagles find themselves at the center of attention for the NFL again in Week 3. The battle for bragging rights in Pennsylvania may also be a legitimate Super Bowl preview. Yet could two very good teams be any more different? 4-3 vs. 3-4. Air attack vs. ground control. Aggressive vs. conservative. The Eagles will host the game and that may be enough to make the difference. Yes, they are playing on a short week after losing to Dallas on Monday Night; yet, in doing so, the Eagles actually moved up in our power rankings. Look for Brian Westbrook to out-perform Willie Parker and for Philadelphia's special teams to make a big play as the Eagles win 61.2% of the time by an average score of 24-19. Dallas at Green Bay is another game between two our top six teams, but it does not have the Super Bowl preview potential or the in-state intrigue of this contest. Both games should be great this weekend.
