correct. they basically took away the 8 and 9inning no hitter loss. like an andy hawkins and harvey haddix perfect game and others of that ilk. they took away around 50 no hitters.

if it goes into extra innings and the original pitcher finishes the game with no hits, it's still a no hitter though, right?

that and the no hitters that went into extra innings were still no hitters. now they arent considered no hitters

since mlb changed their rules of what constitutes a no hitter its more rare for a no hitter then a cycle to occur
