Final Four

#9Wichita St. (30-8) 64
#1Louisville (33-5) 73

If you've caught any of the 2013 NCAA Tournament on television, chances are a lower-third graphic has caught your eye. Broadcasters have highlighted, on more than one occasion, that basketball games are consistently a "game of runs." Both squads trying to fight through scoring droughts, while their opponents shoot the lights out. Such is the case in our simulated National Semifinal between Louisville and Wichita State.

Final Four

#4Michigan (30-7) 67
#4Syracuse (30-9) 70

If the 2013 NCAA Tournament does in fact represent Jim Boeheim's swan song, what a way to bow out. The Syracuse coach has his squad playing perhaps the best defense in the tournament, as Orange opponents have been held to 28.9 percent shooting and have combined to connect on 14 of 91 three-point attempts (15.4 percent). The Michigan Wolverines are the latest team tasked with solving the riddle of Boeheim's zone defense.

Final Four

#1Louisville (33-5) 70
#4Syracuse (30-9) 65

Out of 347 D-I basketball squads, Syracuse finished 232nd in free throw percentage at 67.5 percent. Through the first four games of the 2013 NCAA Tournament, the Orange shot 67.5 percent from the charity stripe. In WhatIfSports.com's 2013 championship game simulation, Syracuse only managed to connect on 66.7 percent of their free chucks. The five misses cost Jim Boeheim's guys a shot at cutting down the nets in Atlanta.
